A key holder is nominated third party that can attend your property in your absence in line with your local Police Service Policy.
The nominated key holder must: have a telephone and must be capable of attending within twenty minutes of being notified, have their own transport to ensure prompt attendance.
If you have a monitored alarm system, then yes you require key holders.
A URN is a Unique Reference Number. This number is issued by the Police and is now a mandatory requirement for monitored systems that require the Police service to attend the property.
A URN is not required if you only require us to notify your nominated keyholder should we receive an alarm activation from your premises.
We would advise that you upgrade your system to be monitored as you then have two distinct advantageous options, police response or key holder response. You choose which type of monitoring you require and MSI will upgrade and design your system accordingly.
